Recent posts in this blog have had text content varying from getting bored with photography (Petri), and the therapeutic effect of shooting absolutely nothing for a change (Antti). I don't know how desperate Samuli is, hah!

For me the problem is doing something as a enthusiastic hobby and then transforming the exact same thing to a full blown job.

Two years ago I had done zero paid work as a photog, now all the photography I do is paid for by someone. Great situaton, right.. Not exactly. Going full steam with images for two years in the row brought up a different situation for me. I wasn't shooting for myself, to fill the daily dose of visual I needed. I wasn't shooting at all, or shooting for an assignment. I do like doing assignments, very much, but it's not healthy to just cut the cord to photography like that. I feel like I've gone blind to pictures I used to go look for.

This needs to change. A guy like me needs to learn how to see again.

In the past few months my center of attention in photography has been about calm and simple things in everyday life. And I must say that it has felt almost therapeutical and soothing to allow yourself to take pictures about basically nothing and everything.

Hello folks. It's time to break the silence. I came back to Finland couple of days ago and remembered that we have this Strap collective...I almost forgot about the whole thing during last month or so. Now, I need to start new projects and I think I'll keep those as a secret, but I will process and post my film pictures from Czech Republic in following weeks. I have about 20 rolls of films that I have not scanned/printed and maybe I will show you some of the school work I did in Slovakia. Maybe, maybe not.
