Strap photos is a project founded by two photographers from Rovaniemi, Finland, who shared interest in same sort of images and attitudes in the realm of photography. The idea to produce a whole concept of Strap came along when both of us started to feel like producing sets of photos about various topics and subjects, but had nowhere to really show them in a good fashion. Strap is a perfect forum for us to concentrate on our work and have some grip to what we are doing, to have some control of the flow of pictures we want to publish and get out for everyone to see and maybe even enjoy. The work presented on this site isn't all we do, it's just a selection of work we share common interest in. Strap is also a channel to promote our personal photography, which can be rather different from what is portrayed on the Strap photos website. Contact us on any work you might have for us, we'll do anything but we'll do it with our own style, adapting to the needs of the client. It is also possible to hire both of us to photograph whatever you have in mind, enabling more versatile approach to the subject. We are open for portfolios by young photographers from any part of the world. Scandinavia, Americas, China, Japan, Europe as a whole. Anything goes.

As you might know, Strap is all about documentary photography, photojournalism and the art of the photo essay. You must work within this genre. Not all of your work must be in this field, but this is simply what Strap is.

Strap will not own your work, nor will it pay you, it is merely a place to portray work and maybe get influenced by other members. Membership is all about doing your part in being a member. Which means telling people about our work, contributing to whatever we do, being a friend, developing our work as a collective, etc. But basically it's about making kick ass photo stories.
